DEBORAH QUINN - 10th year
My name is Deborah H. Quinn and I am a native of Empire, Louisiana located south of New Orleans in Plaquemines Parish. I became a part of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System in 2005-2006 school year at Mayfair Elementary School, which opened up to serve displaced students and teachers due to Hurricane Katrina. I have 22 years of teaching experience, and was named 2006 Plaquemines Parish Elementary Teacher of the Year. I teach using 3 main components: hand-on-activities, higher order thinking skills, and individual differences. I believe learning should be fun and meaningful as students investigate real-world situations. I am very excited to be a member of the Camp CEES Staff and look forward to working with the children.
